The Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, revealed that the Local Health Units (ULS) need approximately 850 nurses to meet the existing needs in the system. This number comes in the context of the government's bet on the reorganization of primary health care through the ULS.
Ana Paula Martins also added that the coming weeks will be of great pressure in the emergency departments of the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region. This situation is particularly expected at the Amadora-Sintra Hospital, which is expected to face high demand for urgent care.
