The biopharmaceutical company GSK has announced that mepolizumab, marketed as Nucala, is now available in Spain as of this Tuesday as a new funded biological therapy for patients with uncontrolled chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
This medication is specifically indicated for certain COPD patients who fail to control their disease with available conventional treatments.
The drug is administered subcutaneously every four weeks, allowing for a spaced and convenient treatment schedule for patients.
With the launch of mepolizumab, Spain expands its available therapeutic options to address this chronic respiratory disease that affects a significant number of patients in the country.
