The Partido Popular of Vila-real states that more than 60% of municipal invoices paid in 2025 were settled outside the established legal deadline. The PP councillor, Jaume Llorens, made this statement after the PSOE and Compromís presented in the municipal plenary session the Audit of the accounting register of invoices and evaluation of compliance with the regulations on non-payment compliance. The municipal technicians highlighted the non-compliance with the legal deadline set by Law 25/2013, which establishes the limits for the payment of invoices by the public administration. Llorens harshly criticised the economic management of the executive led by Benlloch, classifying it as chaotic and uncontrolled. According to the popular councillor, this situation is not an isolated fact, having also occurred in previous financial years. Llorens considered that these data once again demonstrate the lack of control in economic management on the part of Benlloch's government.
