The European Union faces significant difficulties in applying its extensive digital regulation. A group of experts warned that there are 171 digital laws in the community bloc, which grant 315 organisms 597 governance mandates that overlap and occasionally conflict.
This regulatory complexity creates practical challenges for the implementation of European digital policies. The duplicated mandates and contradictions between different laws hinder the work of the responsible authorities.
Given this situation, the experts propose a solution: the creation of a new agency specifically responsible for coordinating and simplifying the application of these digital standards in the European Union. This agency would aim to resolve the conflicts between the different existing organisms and mandates.
