Chelsea identify three targets to replace Enzo Fernández; see names

oglobo1 September 2026 at 15:07

Chelsea are racing against the clock to find a replacement for Enzo Fernández in the final hours of the transfer window. The club's board has defined three priorities to strengthen the midfield: Manu Koné from Roma, Lamine Camara from Monaco, and a Premier League player whose name is being kept under wraps.

Sporting directors Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart, and David Fallows have narrowed the alternatives down to these three players given the progress of negotiations for Enzo Fernández's departure. The Argentine is close to being sold to Manchester City for around €140 million, equivalent to R$980 million, plus bonuses.

Chelsea's priority now is to deliver Xabi Alonso a replacement for one of the squad's key pieces. The club is seeking urgency to finalize the negotiations before the transfer window closes.
