American boxer Kenzie Morrison, 36, revealed he was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer, with metastasis to the spine. He is the son of former world boxing champion Tommy Morrison, who became famous for playing the character Tommy Gunn in the movie "Rocky V". The disease was discovered after Morrison began experiencing severe stomach and back pain in early August.

Kenzie Morrison started a fundraising campaign on the GoFundMe platform to cover oncological treatment and medical expenses. The fighter managed to raise US$ 31,476, equivalent to approximately R$ 155,000, through 221 donations. The amount represents more than half of the goal established in the campaign, which is US$ 50,000.

With the money from the fundraising, Morrison intends to cover the costs of cancer treatment and medical expenses, in addition to helping his family during the period he is away from boxing rings. On the campaign page, he described the disease as "an opponent I cannot fight alone", demonstrating the difficulty he faces in the battle against the tumor.
