Fenprof denounced that schools have 2650 positions to fill at the start of the school year. José Feliciano Costa warned that if the school year started now, thousands of students would not have their teachers.
The most serious situation is in Greater Lisbon, where 1426 positions are still unfilled, representing more than half of the national total.
This information was shared by Fenprof, the union that represents teachers, raising concerns about the impact that this lack of teachers will have on students.
