Kazakhstan implemented a major parliamentary reform, replacing the former bicameral Parliament with a new unicameral legislature called Kurultai. This change marks the beginning of a new political era in the Central Asian country.
The new Parliament is composed of 145 seats, distributed among five parties that guaranteed representation in the assembly. This reform represents a significant change in Kazakhstan's political structure, transforming a bicameral system into a unicameral system.
