Spain advances with a "shock plan" of 309 million euros to face the migration crisis in the city of Ceuta. The amount represents 16% of the city's annual gross domestic product and will be mobilized over the next four months.
The plan is divided into three main areas of action. The first provides for the reinforcement of security at the borders and migration control. The second area is dedicated to humanitarian support for migrants and populations affected by the crisis.
The third component of the plan includes direct aid to local businesses, which suffer the economic consequences of the migration situation. Ceuta has been confronted with an intense migratory flow that has put pressure on public services and the local economy.
