Al Ittihad, a club from Saudi Arabia, are very close to securing Richard Ríos on loan for one season. The Colombian midfielder, who belongs to Benfica, will be loaned to the Saudi club for the next sports season.
The negotiations between the two clubs advanced significantly in the last few hours, culminating in an agreement that does not include any purchase option. This means that, once the loan period ends, Ríos will return to Benfica.
Ríos arrived at Benfica in a recent transfer and tried to make his mark in the red squad, but the Saudi interest arises as an opportunity for the player to get regular minutes in a competitive league. Al Ittihad intends to strengthen their midfield with a young player with growth potential.
The deal is only dependent on the final formalization between the parties, but everything indicates that the operation should be confirmed shortly, adding another Colombian player to the growing colony of South American footballers in the Saudi league.
