The humanitarian aid collected by the citizens of Castelló at the beginning of July, totaling 24 tons, did not leave the municipal facilities despite the City Council having reported on "the departure of the last shipment of the cargo." The food and essential products remain in the city.
The deputy spokesperson of the Socialist Municipal Group, José Luis López, accused the mayor, Begoña Carrasco, of lying by assuring that the aid had already been sent, when the reality is that the products continue to be stored in Castelló.
The shipment was collected by the citizens of Castelló two months ago, but has not yet been sent to Venezuela. The accusation arises after the municipality publicly announced that the aid had already been dispatched.
