VMware brings Nemotron, Gemma, Qwen and GLM to its private AI cloud

Notícias Portugal1 September 2026 at 12:17

Broadcom announced at VMware Explore 2026 the expansion of VMware Cloud Foundation's (VCF) artificial intelligence capabilities, with the validation of models from organizations such as NVIDIA, Google DeepMind, NEC, Alibaba Cloud and Z.ai. This innovation allows companies to run inference and models as a service on their own private infrastructures, ensuring greater control over data, costs and infrastructure.

The validated models include NVIDIA's Nemotron 3, Google DeepMind's Gemma 4, NEC's cotomi, Alibaba's Qwen3.8-27B and Z.ai's GLM 5.2. With this, VCF enables the execution of more than 150 open models. The initiative responds to a growing trend, where 56% of companies already use or plan to implement AI inference on private clouds, according to Broadcom's research.

The platform is compatible with infrastructures based on AMD, Intel and NVIDIA technology, allowing traditional virtual machines and AI agents to share the same platform. Broadcom also emphasized the importance of privacy and data control, in addition to introducing the concept of "Model as a Service," which allows infrastructure teams to manage different models and make them available to other departments.
