On Tuesday, the eve of the vote on the Constitutional Amendment Proposal (PEC) that ends the 6x1 work schedule in the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Senate, the rapporteur, senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), will dedicate much of the day to meetings with different sectors interested in the proposal. Each meeting is scheduled to last about 20 minutes.
Among the groups seeking the rapporteur are representatives from the National Commerce Confederation (CNC), the National Transportation Confederation (CNT), port terminals, Fecomércio-SP and airlines, all representing the productive sector. Union central representatives and labor court judges are also participating in the conversations.
The CCJ did not hold public hearings on the topic, and Aziz, a government ally, has already rejected all 12 amendments presented by parliamentarians to modify the text approved by the Chamber of Deputies. Another 12 amendments registered after the presentation of the report on Thursday are also expected to be rejected by the rapporteur.
The proposal aims to modify the work schedule in which the employee works six days and rests one, and has been mobilizing both employers and workers on the eve of the vote in the committee.
