Chega again publicly addressed a situation concerning the housing of immigrant workers in the former Sousa & Filhos building, in Campanário, which had already been raised in 2024. The party continues to demand answers about the conditions of that space.
At issue is a building that does not have a residential licence, but which is reportedly serving as housing for dozens of people. The situation raises questions about habitability conditions and the legality of its use for residential purposes.
In 2024, the Ribeira Brava Municipal Council confirmed that approximately 50 people were staying overnight in that building. The municipality stated that it had ordered the responsible parties to be notified to cease the irregular activities.
