EU to suspend purchases of Brazilian meat starting Thursday

The European Union will suspend purchases of Brazilian meat starting Thursday. The prohibition specifically covers Brazilian beef and was confirmed by the office of the European Commissioner for Health and Animal Welfare. The measure represents a significant restriction on the trade of agricultural products between the European bloc and Brazil, one of the world's largest beef exporters. The decision was made within the framework of the European Commission's competencies regarding the food safety and sanitary conditions of imported products.
