Shein's shares plummeted more than 9% on the first day of trading on the stock exchange. The online fashion company, headquartered in Singapore, made its much-anticipated debut on the stock market.
In the initial public offering, Shein raised approximately 13.6 billion Hong Kong dollars, which is equivalent to almost 1.5 billion euros. The amount raised was considered significant for the market.
Despite the significant fundraising, the performance of the shares on the opening trading session fell below investor expectations, reflecting market caution regarding the company.
