A Russian attack on a railway depot in the Kyiv region caused at least eight deaths during the night. Three other people died in the outskirts of the Ukrainian capital. The attack targeted railway infrastructure in the country's capital.
The total death toll exceeds a dozen. Ukrainian authorities have not yet released further details about the operation or possible survivors among the rubble.
This attack occurs in the context of the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing for more than two years. Kyiv has been frequently targeted by Russian missile and drone attacks throughout the conflict.
Russian forces continue to carry out attacks on civilian and military targets in Ukrainian territory, including the capital, in an escalation of the conflict that has caused regular civilian casualties.
