The Saudi supertanker called 'Sidr' was intercepted while navigating the southern channel of the Strait of Ormuz, one of the world's most strategic maritime routes for oil transportation.
The interception occurred after the ship suddenly activated its identification systems, which alerted Iranian authorities to the vessel's presence in the sensitive area.
According to Iranian media outlets, which reported the information, the incident involved military forces that proceeded to intercept the tanker in the Strait of Ormuz.
