Wall Street closes positive month in the red with return of attacks on Iran

SAPO31 August 2026 at 22:55

The New York exchange closed today in the red, with investors yielding to the resumption of US attacks on Iran. The resumption of these attacks, combined with the rise in interest rates and oil prices, motivated the decline of the markets.

Despite the negative session, Wall Street managed to close the month in positive territory, which means the accumulated gains throughout the month were sufficient to offset the decline recorded in this session.

It argues that, although a small number of patients are left at the hospital on purpose, the overwhelming majority has no support, often not even family. The author argues that there has been a lack of political will to resolve this issue over the years.
