The IC8 was closed to traffic in the municipality of Ansião, in the Leiria district, due to a road collision. The road was blocked in both lanes as a result of the accident.

According to a source from the Leiria GNR, the accident involved a heavy vehicle and two light vehicles. Detailed information about the incident was deferred to a later time, as rescue operations were still ongoing at the scene.
