The Lisbon City Hall and Carris stated that they did "everything, everything, everything" in support of the victims of the Glória elevator accident. This statement comes in the context of a possible investigation or questioning about the measures adopted after the disaster.

The derailment of the Glória elevator occurred on September 3, 2025, resulting in 16 fatalities. Additionally, the accident caused 24 injured, some of them in serious condition.

The victims of the accident were from 15 different nationalities, which made support for the families even more complex, involving consular issues and translation into multiple languages.

The Glória elevator is one of the most emblematic historic transports in Lisbon, operating as an inclined elevator that connects the downtown area of the city to the Santa Catarina neighborhood.
