Borg, whose full name is Marius Borg Høiby, was one of those chosen by the Norwegian royal family to carry the coffin of the former monarch Harald V. The choice generated controversy due to the criminal record of Mette-Marit's son.
Borg was convicted of two violations and other crimes. Currently, he is serving house arrest as part of his sentence.
Borg's participation in King Harald V's funeral was determined by the Norwegian royal family, which chose to include him among the people responsible for carrying the coffin during the transfer ceremony.
