Nepalese rescue services are intensifying their efforts to access the tunnels of the hydroelectric plants destroyed by last Wednesday's flood, where hundreds of workers are feared to be trapped alive. Rescue teams are trying to reach the underground conduits as quickly as possible, although so far no one has been found alive in these ducts.
The rescue work is concentrated on about half a dozen stations located along the Trishuli River, in the districts of Rasuwa and Nuwakot, which were the most affected by the disaster. These districts suffered the greatest impact from the flood that devastated the region's hydroelectric infrastructure.
Nepalese authorities continue to operate without success in the attempt to find survivors in the underground tunnels. The situation remains critical, with rescue teams facing great difficulties accessing the locations where workers may be trapped.
