The big international star of the event was Dutch athlete Sanne Meijer, considered one of the world's great wakeboard references. The athlete highlighted this year's edition of the championship with her presence.

The event took place at the Trízio riverside beach, a location that provided ideal conditions for the practice and viewing of water sports during the three days of competition.
