Digital influencer and aviation specialist Lito Sousa was recently diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a rare, neurodegenerative and incurable condition. He has been hospitalized at Einstein Hospital Israelita, in São Paulo, for about 20 days and is preparing to continue treatment at home, under a home care regimen.
In an interview with the Fantástico program last Sunday, Mila Seidl, Lito Sousa's wife, stated that her husband's intelligence is "100% preserved," but his body has already been greatly affected by the disease. According to her, the progression of the disease is expected to be measured in weeks.
Mila explained that Lito has lost important movements and cannot walk alone. In addition, he has lost part of his vision and his speech is slurred, meaning compromised. His wife highlighted that his essence, soul and intelligence are preserved, but his physical body has been greatly affected by the disease.
