A car used as "drug trafficking armored vehicle" was involved in an accident this Monday in Penha Circular, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The vehicle, a silver armored Toyota Hilux, was equipped with "seteiras" — holes in the bodywork used to support weapons and shoot with greater accuracy.
Military police officers from the 16th BPM (Olaria) were called to Brás de Pina Avenue around 1 a.m. At the scene, the agents found that the car had knocked down a pole and stopped after crashing into the wall of the Aloysio Augusto Novis Family Clinic. The vehicle was found without occupants.
The agents ran a license plate check and discovered it was cloned. According to the police, the vehicle had been stolen in the area of the 9th Police Station (Catete) on October 3, 2025. The officers arranged for the vehicle to be towed.
