Several dead in US attacks on launch platforms in Iran

Several people were killed as a result of US attacks against launch platforms in Iran. The military operations were conducted by US Central Command (CENTCOM).

According to CENTCOM, the attacked facilities were used to launch missiles loaded with naval mines. Tehran was preparing to fire these devices at the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait of Hormuz is a strategic waterway in the Persian Gulf region, through which a significant portion of the world's oil maritime traffic passes.
