Arleny Abreu Quintero, a 19-year-old young woman residing in the Bronx, New York, publicly revealed that she developed a compulsive addiction to pornography that almost destroyed her mental health. What began as curiosity in adolescence turned into a nightmare that completely distorted her worldview.
The young woman said she spent up to five hours straight watching adult videos on Pornhub, developing what she describes as a "very sexual mindset." According to her account, she began to sexualize classmates, teachers, and even members of her own family, which caused her great discomfort and shame.
Arleny's first contact with this type of content happened at age 13, when a school friend recommended it to her. Intrigued by her classmate's account, she searched for the content on the internet and had what she described as a "pleasurable experience," beginning the cycle of dependency.
The young woman shared her testimony in a video posted on her TikTok profile, warning other young people about the dangers of this type of habit. She stated that the experience was very disturbing and that she felt very ashamed of the thoughts she developed during the period of dependency.
