Operation in Gardênia Azul targets criminals involved in territorial disputes

The Military Police carried out an operation on Monday in Gardênia Azul, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The action aims to combat criminals involved in territorial disputes in the region. Teams from the 18th BPM of Jacarepaguá were mobilized for the operation.

The operation occurs two days after Gardênia Azul and other regions of Jacarepaguá, such as Muzema and Curicica, were the scene of violent disputes that left four dead on Saturday night.

Due to the operation, seven schools in the municipal network suspended classes in the region. A Primary Care unit in the municipality closed its doors and is assessing the possibility of reopening in the coming hours, while another unit suspended external activities, such as home visits.

So far, there is no information on arrests or seizures made during the operation.
