The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized nearly half a ton of cocaine during an inspection of a truck on BR-135, in southern Piauí. The seizure occurred last Sunday, the 30th.

The drug was found during the inspection of the vehicle, which was traveling along one of the main roads in the state. Authorities did not provide details about the driver or possible destinations of the illegal cargo.

With this seizure, Piauí reaches nearly one ton of cocaine seized in a period of just 10 days. The total volume of drugs removed from circulation demonstrates the intense work of combating trafficking in the region.
