Journalist Carlos Monforte dies at 77

Carlos Monforte died at 77, former editor-in-chief and anchor of Bom Dia Brasil on TV Globo. Born in Santos, in São Paulo, he and his family lived in Brasília.

Monforte started working at Globo in 1978, as a reporter. He led Bom Dia Brasil for nine years, being considered one of the first anchors of Brazilian journalism. He left the network in 1992 to set up the Communication department of the National Industry Conference, where he stayed for two years.

He returned to Globo two years later and, in 1998, joined Globo News, where he was a reporting coordinator. He left the network definitively in 2016. In 2022, he released the book "The Role of Journalism Without Paper," about digital transformation in newsrooms.
