Afya invests in the use of AI in clinical routines with clear limits to avoid exaggerations

oglobo31 August 2026 at 13:00

The survey conducted by Afya in partnership with Conexa Research Center revealed that 78% of surveyed doctors already use artificial intelligence in clinical practice. The survey was conducted between November 2025 and January 2026 and indicates that technology adoption is advancing in a context of accelerated growth in scientific production, with estimates indicating that medical knowledge doubles every 75 days.

The study also identified risks associated with the use of these tools. Among the respondents, 64% stated they had already encountered incorrect, inadequate, or potentially dangerous information produced by artificial intelligence. The challenge highlighted in the survey is that, for healthcare professionals, the difficulty lies not only in locating a study or guideline, but in quickly identifying what can contribute to a therapeutic approach.

It is in this scenario between the speed of technology and the need for safety in the healthcare sector that Afya positions solutions such as Whitebook. The tool is described as a clinical practice platform enhanced by artificial intelligence, aimed at supporting doctors in their professional routine.
