Year-on-year inflation in Portugal accelerated to 3.3% in August, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month. The quick estimate was released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) this Monday.
The INE highlighted that the acceleration in the Consumer Price Index is almost entirely explained by the increase in fuel prices.
In month-on-month comparison, the CPI is expected to have changed by 0.1% this month, contrasting with the -0.5% recorded in July and the -0.2% of August 2025.
