The Guardia Civil from the Sant Mateu station, in the province of Castellón, arrested a 63-year-old man suspected of having committed a continued fraud offense against his neighbor who suffers from dementia. The investigation took place in the town of Salzadella.
The suspect fraudulently used the victim's bank book to make withdrawals and transfers, managing to steal a total of 5,600 euros. The victim, due to her condition of dementia, was in a situation of special vulnerability.
The arrest falls within the framework of the Major Safety Plan, a Guardia Civil initiative whose main objective is to prevent risks and improve the safety of elderly people, encouraging their trust in the security forces.
