Critical thinking has become the most valued skill in the job market during the artificial intelligence era. This trend was identified by the human resources consulting firm Korn Ferry, which conducted a study on the most sought-after skills by talent acquisition leaders.
According to the study, approximately three in every four talent acquisition leaders consider critical thinking as the main skill they seek in candidates. This preference reflects the growing need for professionals capable of facing complex challenges in a rapidly transforming professional environment.
Korn Ferry identified five specific exercises that can help professionals develop this skill. These exercises focus on three main areas: questioning established answers, recognizing thought patterns, and solving problems that do not yet have a known solution.
This appreciation for critical thinking arises in a context where many routine tasks are being automated by artificial intelligence. Thus, companies seek candidates who can complement technological capabilities with unique human skills, such as in-depth analysis, independent thinking, and the ability to solve complex and unprecedented issues.
