Gabriel Souza, vice-governor of Rio Grande do Sul and MDB candidate for governor of the state, seeks to transform the experience accumulated in recent years into an electoral advantage. In a dispute marked by low name recognition of the candidates, he is betting on the television campaign to become more known and present himself as the name capable of continuing the reconstruction works after the 2024 floods.
The candidate acknowledges that his candidacy is associated with the Eduardo Leite government, but seeks to distance himself from the idea of pure continuity. "I don't want to make a third edition of the current government. I want to make a first edition of a new government," states Gabriel Souza, indicating that he intends to have his own management if elected.
The interview also mentions the first Datafolha poll for president after the candidates' interviews on TV Globo and addresses a decade of Dilma Rousseff's impeachment, mentioning politicians who opted for the former president's removal and who currently have Lula's support in the election.
