TAP significantly worsened its losses in the first half, reaching losses of 99 million euros. The Portuguese airline had already recorded negative results of 70.7 million euros in the first half of 2025, representing a substantial worsening of the company's financial situation.
The 2026 financial data reveals that TAP managed to increase its revenue through June, however this growth was completely offset by fuel costs. These operating expenses fully consumed the revenue increase achieved by the airline during the period.
The deterioration in results contrasts with any expectations of recovery, given that the company managed to increase its operating revenue. The weight of fuel costs thus became the main factor responsible for the worsening loss of the Portuguese air carrier.
