Brazilian author Carla Madeira is considered the most-read fiction writer in Brazil and has developed a unique way of signing her books. She uses a personalized stamp with a drawing of a rosemary branch, which she had made especially for signing sessions. The stamp is kept in a cloth bag that she affectionately calls the "autograph little bag".
Carla Madeira has just released her fourth novel, titled "Quando", published by Record. The author appeared in the GLOBO interview holding the stamp, which is already a trademark of her signing sessions. The smell of rosemary on the stamp is a reference to a passage in the new book.
The inspiration for the stamp came from her mother's love for plants. Carla revealed that she was inspired by her mother's relationship with plants to write a particular scene in the work. The illustration of the rosemary branch alludes precisely to this element present in the book.
In a playful tone during the interview, the author stated that she wants to make a version of Drummond's poetry that says "in the middle of the road, there was a rosemary". The full interview will be published by GLOBO on a Monday.
