Laurie Anderson will deposit unpublished manuscript in the Future Library in 2027

Público30 August 2026 at 20:38

North American artist Laurie Anderson will deposit an unpublished manuscript in the Future Library in 2027. This is an artistic project conceived by British artist Katie Paterson and located in Oslo, Norway.

With this contribution, Laurie Anderson joins a select group of prestigious authors who already participate in the project. Among them are Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, South Korean author Han Kang, and Norwegian writer Karl Ove Knausgård, all of whom are winners of major international literary prizes.

The concept of the Future Library is unique: the deposited works remain sealed and will not be revealed to the public for a century. Thus, the manuscripts delivered by the authors will be kept until the year 2114, when they will finally be revealed and read by the public. The project's goal is to create a connection between generations far apart in time through literature.
