Deportivo takes off and raises alarms for Valencia

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General30 August 2026 at 21:08

Deportivo da Coruña secured an important victory by defeating Valencia 3-1, thus achieving their first triumph in La Liga after eight years. The Galician team fully deserved the victory, demonstrating a superior attitude throughout the match.

Valencia, on the other hand, offered an extremely negative image that highlighted their enormous problems. The team showed great defensive fragility that was exploited by Deportivo, in addition to displaying very few ideas in attack throughout the match.

The match took place in A Coruña and represented a turning point for Deportivo, who have gone eight years without celebrating a victory in the top category of Spanish football. This defeat worsens Valencia's situation, as they continue to struggle with instability and positive results.
