The President of the Republic, António José Seguro, congratulated the national canoeing team for their performance at the World Championship held in Poznan, Poland. In a note published on the Presidency's website, Seguro highlighted the four medals won by the Portuguese team.
Fernando Pimenta was one of the big highlights by becoming World Champion of K1 5,000 meters, winning his second medal in the competition. His performance contributed significantly to the positive balance of the Portuguese team at the event.
