The first day of operation of the leisure bike lane for self-propelled vehicles on Rio's South Zone waterfront was marked by doubts among users and guidance from agents of the Municipal Secretary of Public Order (Seop). On Sunday morning (30th), cyclists and operators were approached to understand the new circulation rules, and in some cases, their equipment was subjected to speed tests at a checkpoint set up near post 11, Copacabana. An orientation structure was also set up there.

For now, enforcement is educational with no fines being issued. However, starting November 1st, those violating the rules may face fines and equipment seizure.
