At least seven people died after a ferry capsized off the north coast of Cyprus. The accident occurred while the vessel was carrying approximately 270 passengers and crew.

According to Turkish media outlets that reported the incident, the wreck happened in the northern part of the island of Cyprus. Authorities have not yet released detailed information about the identity of the victims or the exact circumstances of the accident.

This incident represents one of the most serious maritime tragedies in the Eastern Mediterranean region in recent years. Rescue operations were launched immediately after the alert, but the death toll may still rise.
