A 20-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police, through the Northern Directorate, for suspected murder of his stepfather during the early hours of this Sunday. The crime occurred in the parish of Vermoim, in the municipality of Maia.

The victim was a 50-year-old man, the suspect's stepfather. After the crime, the young man was arrested by the authorities and remains in preventive detention. The Judicial Police did not reveal further details about the circumstances of the homicide.
