The Brazilian Flavio Alcantara Dias, 43 years old, was arrested in the United States after being accused of killing a woman in Framingham, in the state of Massachusetts. The crime occurred on Thursday, and the suspect pleaded not guilty during the custody hearing held on Friday morning at the Framingham District Court. The information was released by broadcasters WHDH 7News and NBC Boston.
According to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and Framingham Police, officers responded to a call around 12:20 PM on Thursday at a residence on Waverly Street. At the scene, police found the victim, an American identified as Brianna Connolly, 33 years old, already dead. Dias contacted the police to report the incident and claimed to have committed the murder by accident.
The prosecutor handling the case stated that the Brazilian claimed in testimony that he was using drugs with the victim before committing the crime. The conflict between them began after the woman refused to have sexual relations with him. During the custody hearing, Dias was represented by a defense attorney and remained detained without bail eligibility.
