A head-on collision between a minibus and a cargo truck killed 27 people on Friday, near the city of Chivhu, in Zimbabwe. The accident occurred when the two vehicles collided head-on on a road in the region.
The minibus was carrying church members who were heading to a conference. After the impact, the vehicle caught fire and was reduced to its frame, which is believed to have contributed to the high number of fatalities.
Local authorities are investigating the causes of the accident. This type of head-on collision is frequent on Zimbabwe's roads, often attributed to speeding and the poor condition of the roads.
