Miguel Albuquerque, president of the Regional Government, inaugurated this weekend two new private investments on the island of Porto Santo. The investments consist of a restaurant and a fruit shop.

At the restaurant, Albuquerque praised the quality of "Origo 34", the new restaurant unit of the Legacy Ithos Boutique Hotel. This restaurant represents the latest investment by the Vila Baleira Group in Porto Santo.

The Vila Baleira Group is thus responsible for this new hotel and restaurant investment on the island, demonstrating the continued interest of the private sector in the region.

With these inaugurations, Porto Santo receives two new ventures that reinforce the island's tourism and commercial offering, in an investment that was attended by the president of the Regional Government.

IMF Recommends Promoting Labor Reform to Stimulate Economic Growth

An IMF study reveals that G20 economies face significant growth restrictions due to excessive regulation in labor markets, with forecasts of annual growth of only 3% by 2031, a level close to that of the 2007-2008 financial crisis. The report points out that inadequate labor policies, excessive business regulations and barriers to investment are the main obstacles, affecting 50% of advanced economies and three quarters of the emerging economies of the group. The IMF recommends cautious deregulation reforms, professional retraining programs and gradual implementation of changes, highlighting that success depends on trustworthy institutions, clear communication and careful planning to maximize benefits and minimize economic risks.
