Luísa Ramos participated in all editions of the Avante! Festival, which celebrates 50 years. She considers it unthinkable to take holidays at this time of year, revealing her strong commitment to the event over five decades.
For decades, Luísa was responsible for receiving the foreign parties and artists who participated in the festival. This role required great adaptability and knowledge of the cultural differences between the various visiting countries.
The hostess recalls that the Soviets "were deadly serious", referring to their more rigid and formal posture, while the artists and parties from Latin America were described as "a party", characterized by their joy and informality.
The accumulated experience allowed her to develop the necessary caution to manage these cultural differences, ensuring that each foreign visitor was received in a way that was appropriate to their expectations and customs.
