A fire broke out during the night of this Saturday in the Furneira area, in Câmara de Lobos, Madeira. The fire mobilized operatives from four fire brigades to the location.
Those involved in fighting the flames are the Voluntary Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos, the Mixed Firefighters of Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol, the Municipal Firefighters of Funchal, and the Madeirense Voluntary Firefighters. The operatives are trying to attack the flames from different points.
The operation was described as a "triangulation," a strategy that allows firefighters to try to minimize the fire's progression through a coordinated approach from multiple angles.
