More than 600 people died following a flash flood in Nepal, leaving the country in mourning. Manjit Singh, representative of the Non-Resident Nepali Association in Portugal, commented on the situation, stating that "we have many dead people, the country is very sad." The tragedy also left many families homeless and without access to food.

Carlos Eduardo Cerqueira, 52, a volleyball professor, died this Saturday after spending 65 days in a coma following an assault in downtown Rio de Janeiro in June.
